Jeffrey E. Vickers, Saxophone
Photo Gallery
The pictures above were taken in Auer Hall at Indiana University. Jeff was a guest soloist with the IU New Music Ensemble on a tribute concert for French-American composer Betsy Jolas (right), December 3rd, 2003. The composition was Points d'Or, a concerto for one saxophonist performing on four saxophones, and new music ensemble. At one point, the soloist is required to perform on tenor and alto saxophones simultaneously! The picture could be a little clearer, but you get the idea.
Below left, Jeff performs in Iowa (2006) with his good friend and collaborator, Dr. Krista Wallace-Boaz, who is on faculty at the University of Louisville. Below right, a picture with Mr. Piet Swerts, composer of several popular works for saxophone, including Klonos and Kotekan. Mr. Swerts presented an analysis of Klonos at the 2007 Region IV NASA Conference in Dallas, TX.
